BROOKLYN RULES STARS SUPPORT ALEC BALDWIN
The stars of Brooklyn Rules stand by their co-star Alec Baldwin in light of his recent media troubles. |
When you grow up in Brooklyn the code you live by is stand by your friends no matter what. Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Scott Caan lived by that credo on screen playing best friends since childhood in Brooklyn Rules. |
That same dedication was extended off-screen in support of co-star Alec Baldwin’s recent media trial who gives a stunningly explosive performance as the borough’s mob king pin trying to recruit these Brooklyn boys into the life. Prinze Jr, the son of Chico and the Man star Freddie Prinze wants Alec to be left alone to just be a dad. |
“It would serve him better if I didn’t say anything because I just want him to be left alone and go through whatever he’s going through. It’s hard, you know being a father, not that I know much about it because I didn’t have one but the lack of having one makes me have a soft spot for fathers. It’s hard enough on it’s own to be a good dad and then have to go through what parents go through as publicly as he is; nobody should be forced to deal with that. And I know he’s in this business and people go that’s a part of the game. It’s not part of the game and they need to leave him alone.” |
Scott Caan says it’s normal to have arguments with your parents, his being Godfather star James, and it doesn’t need to be dragged across the headlines of papers. |
“I just feel like who cares about all that? I don’t even know the specifics or the details but it’s just like the guy had an argument with his daughter. So what? I think it’s so absurd that he has to publicly apologize for doing his best to be a father to his daughter. It’s nobody’s business. I’ve had some terrible threats from my parents in my life and they’ve said some terrible things to me and nobody got up in their face and said, ‘don’t you do that.’ If you learn anything from it, it’s just mind your own business and shut up.” |
Brooklyn Rules opens Friday in theaters. |
