The second annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival will take place this year at the Tobacco Warehouse in Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park and will be produced by Room Service Productions. The festival is free outdoor event that celebrates hip-hop culture and music. |
“The celebration of Hip-Hop music and culture will certainly provide exciting and diverse entertainment for friends and families of all ages,” stated Mary Ellen Kris, assistant deputy commissioner of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. |
Last years celebration featured performances by Brand Nubian, Little Brother, Rhymefest, Leela James, , DJ Amir, DJ Ge-ology and was visited by over 1200 attendees. Although the line up for this summer’s festival has not been announced it is expected to feature Hip-Hop performances, as well as jazz, soul and R&B. |
According to Wes Jackson, president of Room Service Productions, “Our mission is to shine the light on the positive aspects of Hip-Hop culture.” |
