BROKEN TRAIL STARS TELL COWBOY STORIES
(VIDEO) Broken Trail stars Thomas Haden Church and Greta Scaachi tell their own personal cowboy experiences. |
Thomas Haden Church stars in the upcoming two part mini-series Broken Trail on AMC as a cowboy who takes an arduous 1,000 mile ride in the 19th century with his uncle played by Robert Duvall to seek his fortune. The award winning Sideways star has played a cowboy before in Tombstone and is a rancher in Texas when he’s not working in Hollywood. He talks about how important being a cowboy off screen is to him. |
From cowboy to super villain, Thomas is enjoying a war with Spiderman playing the Sand Man in Spiderman 3. |
“It’s a great departure from the entertainment industry and Hollywood. It really gives me a chance to come back to where I’m from and who I always wanted to be, the kind of man and integrity I think we all Texans largely represent. It’s really how I want to be defined. There was a romance that kind of was imbued with cowboys even in that time in the 1870s, 1880s.” |
Greta Scaachi plays the prostitute with the heart of gold who secretly wants to settle down with cowboy Robert Duvall. The Australian native says she had a different kind of western experience working in the outback wrangling sheep. rn |
“Repeatedly try to crush Spiderman. That I can not tell. They’d tar and feather me and run me off the Sony lot if I was to reveal any critical story points.” |
Broken Trail premieres Saturday June 24 at 8PM on AMC. |
“I worked as a jillaroon in Australia at a sheep station. I guess that was the closest I got to cowboy lifestyle. It was funny actually, I was translating for Italian laborers. They would bring over these vast Australian outback style sheep stations because they also had crops and they had a lot of crops to seed. But we didn’t have horses. We would round up the sheep on motorbikes.” |
