BRAVERY BIDDING WAR WARRANTED?
A few years back The Bravery were one of only a few bands that was courted by several major record labels in a bidding war. The event has become a rare occurrence considering the industry woes, but a few years later the band is still trying to become the megaband that everyone thinks they’ll be. |
The band has had some good radio placement and they’ve released “Unconditional,” their third single off their self-titled debut, and they’ve sold a decent number for their first release. Singer Sam Endicott talks about their fortunate entry into the record business. |
“The thing to remember is that the record industry is not what it used to be. They don’t have money like they used to so, for us when you talk about a bidding war or whatever, it’s not like people imagine. We got a lot of attention from a lot of labels which is cool. We were really fortunate to be able to choose between a few labels and pick the one that we thought would do the best job, but if this was happening in the 90s or whatever it wouldn’t have been that unusual. And what’s too bad is that there are a lot of good bands out there that aren’t getting the kind of attention that they should be getting.” |
Bravery are currently preparing for their next round of tour dates. The band starts their tour September 11 in Vancouver, and the tour hits Canada, the U.S., Mexico and the U.K. |
