BONNIE HUNT SLOWS DOWN IN CARS
Bonnie Hunt, the gregarious star of Cheaper by the Dozen is anything but soft spoken. Being over 40 years old Bonnie relates to playing Sally, the metallic blue Porsche who once lived in the fast lane but slows down the pace of her hectic car’s life to have a love affair with Owen Wilson’s Lightning McQueen in Cars. |
Even though highways have taken over much of the driving landscape, Bonnie says you can still get your kicks on Route 66. |
“I knew that she was somebody who used to be tough and try to keep up the pace of her life and keep up with other people that she thought were more important than her or had more things and fancier things. I think she slowed down and it made her a little softer so I thought her voice would be a little softer.” |
Bonnie has been on road trips before traveling from her hometown of Chicago, Illinois to Bass Lake, Indiana with her six brothers and sisters squished in the back seat. Cars parks today at theaters nationwide.rn |
“Route 66 used to be the main highway you know that went from the east to the west. There was a lot of people that made their living waiting for travelers to come by. When the interstate went in they lost that part of the passersby, the people that kept their businesses alive and kept their community alive really. I think when kids see this movie maybe it would be really great if parents took their kids in a Winnebago and went down Route 66 because it can really be quite an experience of meeting so many different characters. I think that’s what the storytellers did in the research of this movie, they saw all these wonderful characters and people that still live along Route 66.” |
