Stereophonics have chosen “Superman” to be the follow-up to the easygoing “Dakota.” The song is making its way up the U.K. charts, and its the latest from their album, Language, Sex, Violence, Other?.

According to singer Kelly Jones the song is an ode to modern technology and people dealing with the pressure and business that comes along with it.rnJones said that “Superman” came from everyday observations.

“I think it’s everywhere. I think the world has become pretty much intense. There’s not a lot of relaxation going on. Everything’s 100 miles an hour, everybody’s…almost nobody is living in the moment because you’re too busy telling somebody else about the moment on a blackberry or a text or a phone rather than actually being there — or you’re taking a picture of it. I find it a bit weird, really, and as we speak my phone rings.”

Stereophonics are scheduled to be part of the stellar line-up at the U.K. Live 8 event this Saturday (July 8), and then they’re back in the United States to play a few radio festival dates.
