BONE THUGS N HARMONY COMPLETE COMEBACK

Cleveland-based rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony successfully returned to the tops of the charts last week. The group’s first major label release in five years, Strength & Loyalty, sold over 119,000 copies its first week in stores to land at Number Two on the Billboard 200 albums chart and Number One on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop albums chart. The album was released through Swizz Beatz’ Full Surface label in conjunction with Interscope Records. The new album was also the first without founding member Bizzy Bone. |
Earlier this year, Krayzie Bone won a Grammy in the best rap performance by a duo category for ‘Ridin’ with Chamillionaire. At the time, the rapper shared the he was excited that Bone was on the comeback trial. He said, |
“Man this is a perfect kick-off, you know what I’m sayin’? We been in the game for thirteen years, you know what I’m sayin’? Last time we got a Grammy was like ninety seven. We just letting everybody know we still here, you know what I’m sayin’? We as current as the game is today.” |
The first single from the album is “I Tried” featuring Akon. The group will release a Jermaine Dupri-produced single in the coming weeks titled, “Lil Love” featuring Bow Wow and Mariah Carey. |
The group’s fifth member Flesh N Bone is currently serving an 11 year prison sentence. He will be eligible for parole in 2009. |
