Singer and songwriter Bobby Valentino will finally release his sophomore album, Special Occasion, on April 3rd. The album was initially scheduled for release last year but it was delayed in order to allow more set-up time. The latest single from the project is “Anonymous” which was produced by Timbaland. Timbaland has been a super producer for several years but he’s undergoing a resurgence after his recent work with Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, and Omarion. |
Valentino released his self-titled debut solo album in 2005 and the set has sold more than 800,000 copies since its release largely due to its smash hit, “Slow Down.” |
“Sometimes man because you know it’s crazy at my shows a lot of people they request for me to do that. They be like, ‘Perform ‘Blackberry Molasses.’ Cause I tell them, ‘What ya’ll want me to sing off the album?’ ‘Blackberry Molasses!’ So it’s kinda a crazy man I end up like just singing the hook and the verse of it and people actually know that record man so you know it’s cool man. I definitely you know… that was a great learning experience for me.” |
The singer, who is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, began his career as member of teen group Mista. The group released a self-titled album in 1996 that featured the hit, “Blackberry Molasses.” Valentino shared that at some shows fans still request the song. He said, |
