BLUE OCTOBER SINGER TO HAVE SURGERY THIS WEEK
(VIDEO) Vocalist Justin Furstenfeld will undergo the knife to repair his broken leg. Postponed dates are being worked out, and the band said they’re looking to putting on a show! |
Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld has been placed on the 45 day disabled list, postponing the band’s tour. The singer will undergo surgery this week to repair a broken leg, and a completely torn LCL. He was rounding the bases at the minor league stadium of baseball’s Philadelphia Phillies, when he slipped, fell and broke his leg. The band was had just finished a set at a radio festival for a Florida radio station near the team’s spring training site. |
It was hoped that Furstenfeld would continue the tour in the next city in a wheelchair or a crutch, but an MRI indicated his injury required immediate surgery. The band will resume its tour June 17 in Houston. Despite the setback the band told us a few weeks ago, they’re preparing to give fans the best show possible. |
“Intros, videos… I would love to have an event with string players, guest singers, and stuff like that. I think sky’s the limit for us artistically. It’s as far as we want to push it, and I’m looking forward to it. If you’ve ever seen a Peter Gabriel show, that’s how big I want to go, crazy theatrics stuff like that.” |
Blue October’s “Hate Me” is still strong at Number Two on the Alternative rock char. Their new album, Foiled, is also holding strong at Number 55 on the Billboard 200 album chart. |
