BLOODSIMPLE SAYS THEY ARE AHEAD OF THE CURVE
(Video) Bloodsimple says that their next album will be ahead of the curve. |
Bloodsimple is comprised of members of Vision Of Disorder, which helped pioneer the current crop of hardcore/metal bands. The band’s Warner Brothers debut forged a sound for the band, and with tepid response, they are currently in the studio writing a new album. |
We caught up with Bloodsimple outside their label party after the MTV Video Music Awards, and the band talked about their opinion of how the first album went. |
“I feel ambivalent towards it. It is what it is and I think that it’s cool that it became what it is. We also are moving on and we’re doing something different now at this point. We also are doing what we want to do. The record that we’re going to make at this point is going to be very different than the last record we made, and it will be very different from any record that’s come out from any metal band that’s doing stuff now.” |
Bloodsimple also revealed that with songs off the new album, they’ll be evolving past their hardcore metal roots. |
“Definitely, definitely trying to do something different.” “It’s hard because it seems like a lot of metal bands are doing stuff that metal bands were doing fifteen years ago at this point. Instead of stuff that they did a year ago now, and they think that’s original now. It’s not. So you gotta really find your own voice at this point, you know?” |
Expect the album to drop late this year or early 2007. Bloodsimple hopes to have some music to people by November. Vocalist Tim Williams and guitarist Mike Kennedy were working on Bloodsimple as far back as 2001, and when Vision Of Disorder broke up that opened the door for the band. |
