BLACK DAHLIA AUTHOR JAMES ELLROY OVERJOYED WITH DIRECTOR DEPALMA

(VIDEO) Black Dahlia author James Ellroy couldn’t contain his excitement over director DePalma.

When The Black Dahlia author James Ellroy heard that the master of mystery Brian DePalma would be directing the screen version of his novel, he couldn’t contain his excitement.

Those visuals struck director DePalma in an extremely visceral way prompting him to take on the unsolved murder mystery that occurred almost 60 years ago.

“When my wife at the time currently my ex-wife said Rudy Cohen one of the producers has called, Brian DePalma is directing the Black Dahlia, I looked out my window, I saw a full moon, I went outside and bayed at it. I think that Brian DePalma has very deftly reduced and compressed my story and give it a stunning visual life.”
