BIG PUN NEEDS TO GET HIS PROPS
Rapper Big Pun died at the age of 29 just as his rap career was approaching superstar status. The rapper, who was discovered by Fat Joe, released his platinum debut album, Capital Punishment, in 1998. The album quickly set him apart as a superior lyricist which was recognized by his peers including Nas. But unlike other rappers who have died, Big Pun isn’t always honored for his accomplishments |
His protege, Remy Ma, also believes that Big Pun doesn’t get his props. She said, |
“I feel like a lot of times when people do pieces on rappers that we lost, they always mention BIG and Pac and Left Eye, and Aaliyah, and Jam Master Jay. And a lot of times they tend to forget about Pun. First of all, he was the first latin rapper to ever go platinum. And I feel he was one of the best rappers that was out there. If you ask any rapper how they feel about Pun’s status, he’s definitely up in the top rankings of their lists.” |
