BIG BOI GETS HIS PROPS FROM SAVANNAH
While most of the world knows OutKast’s Big Boi for representing Atlanta, Georgia, the rapper actually spent his early childhood years in Savannah, Georgia and recently the King-Tisdell Cottage Foundation honored the rapper for his contribution to the arts. The rapper, who received the Fine Arts Award on Saturday, October 1st, told the Associated Press, “It feels great. It’s been a long time coming. After 13 years, I appreciate it.” |
Big Boi plans to build a bed and breakfast, a restaurant and a recording studio in Savannah. He explained, “”It’s all about easy living down here. Now, that I’ve been around in the world, there’s a lot of things I could do in the entertainment scene down here.” |
Big Boi and Andre 3000 are currently working on two new albums. The first will be the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie and the second will be an OutKast album. |
Big Boi also recently launched his new Purple Ribbon label. The label’s first project is a compilation titled, The Purple Ribbon All-Stars. The set is in stores now. |
