BG HOOKS BACK UP WITH MANNIE FRESH
B.G., who relocated to Detroit after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, will release his new album, The Heart Of The City: Volume 2, I Am What I Am, on March 21st. The album features guest appearances by Paul Wall, Lil’ Webbie, and the Chopper City Boys. B.G. also reunited with producer Mannie Fresh for the album’s lead single, “Move Around.” The two haven’t worked together since BG left Cash Money Records in 2002. |
Fresh, who left Cash Money Records last year, has been a busy man lately producing songs for Young Jeezy, Bun B, Lil’ Flip and others. The producer explained the challenges of working with established artists. He said, |
“It’s kind of hard working with artists, you know, because so many artists after that first song, that first album when they hungry and they have that hit, they not listening to the producer no more. They just like I know it all. That first album they’re open to all your suggestions you know what I’m sayin’? What makes the song, you know, how the hook should be or whatever but after that it’s like you know I know this. Don’t even worry about it. Leave me alone. You know what I’m sayin’?” |
