Ben Stiller marries Ms. Wrong in The Heartbreak Kid.

Ben Stiller reunites with There’s Something About Mary directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly as the guy who never commits only to take the plunge with a certifiable looney tune in The Heartbreak Kid.

Ben plays a sporting goods salesman who thinks he’s met the woman of his dreams until he wakes up to a nightmare.

“He’s never gotten married, he’s 40 years old. He’s thinking about it and he meets this girl who seems perfect and decides to go for it with her and ends up she’s a nightmare. They’re wrong for each other and on the honeymoon I meet the girl who I should’ve married.”

Ms. Right is played by Michelle Monaghan but perfect casting in the role of Stiller’s dad is his real life father Jerry Stiller.

“It’s fun to work with my dad just because he’s so funny you don’t have to worry about really being funny in a scene because he’s just gonna be the funniest person in the scene no matter what. He’s just hilarious. He’s so unique and he does his thing and since he is my father you don’t really have to act because there’s already that relationship there whether you want it there or not. When you’re acting with a parent it’s just all that history is there. So that was great and it really helped our relationship as father and son.”

The Heartbreak Kid didn’t break enough hearts at the box office this weekend coming in second place earning $14 million. The Rock’s The Game Plan took first place once again with $16 million.
