BEN FOSTER RIDES HORSES FOR FIRST TIME IN 3:10 TO YUMA
Ben Foster got to fulfill his cowboy fantasy in 3:10 To Yuma, riding horses. |
Ben Foster got to live out all his childhood cowboy fantasies playing the loyal right hand man to Russell Crowe’s outlaw in his gun slinging gang in the western 3:10 To Yuma. |
Before the role Ben had never been on a horse before but always wanted to play a cowboy. |
“I certainly did as a young kid. Very similar outfit to these pants, these orange pants almost identical in color. When I went into the wardrobe and saw these colors, ‘I’m gonna be four years old with guns!’ Are you kidding me, and then the opportunity to learn something new which was horseback riding which I hadn’t done before.” |
Ben and company attended a three week cowboy camp in Santa Fe, New Mexico before filming began. |
“We came to Santa Fe to start something we called cowboy camp which was about three weeks before principal photography and it was just riding four hours a day and then gun training and that was pretty outstanding. You know ride with Christian, ride with Russell, ride with their gang on this incredible distance of valleys on horseback and once we got to a certain part of the desert we’d go shoot our guns and then we’d eat barbecue. I mean it was a good camp.” |
From a western to a vampire flick, Ben will star in 30 Days of Night about an Alaskan town attacked by blood suckers. |
