BEN AFFLECK KEPT MISSING POOL CUE IN SMOKIN’ ACES
Ben Affleck proves he is no pool shark in the film Smokin’ Aces. |
Ben Affleck won’t be joining a celebrity pool tournament any time soon because he couldn’t sink one shot in the pocket while shooting a scene for Smokin’ Aces. |
Directed by Joe Carnahan Ben was supposed to speak and shoot pool at the same time, a task he found impossible to master. |
“Yeah I had a bunch of dialogue to do and try to get through and he wanted to cut in and out of it. He said the only thing that was important was the pool shots. I’m knocking a few balls down to cut in and out of so it was a consequence. It was virtually impossible for me to hit one pool shot. At one point I think I set the world record for missing the easiest shot in a row. I just kept setting it up break, break, break. So that was fun and it really boosted my ego. I felt really proud of myself and I feel I impressed the crew because that’s very hard to do. Nobody said anything to me but I think in their minds they were thinking, ‘this guy he’s got it going on.’” |
It seems Ben’s character couldn’t do anything right as he plays a bounty hunter accompanied by Flyboys star Martin Henderson and Peter Berg who ends up being hunted. |
“Martin and Peter play these two ex cops who I hire to come on this sting to go get Buddy Israel who’s Jeremy Piven. And so there’s the three of us who are just kind of this trio of idiots who get killed by a trio of even bigger idiots who are the Tremor brothers. This is a story about idiots mostly. Most of the people in this movie are basically idiots. But the great thing is that there all idiots who think they have it figured out and dialed in.” |
