BEN AFFLECK KEEPS OUTTAKES FOR GONE BABY GONE DVD
First time director Ben Affleck has plenty of outtakes for the Gone Baby Gone DVD. |
Filming the story of a kidnapped child in a small Massachusetts town is heavy material for anyone to bear so Ben Affleck made sure to lighten up the mood on set with plenty of outtakes. |
Ben hired several non-professional actors, and one in particular had to deliver some salty dialogue during a bar scene. |
“I had to get this one actor deliver this one particularly kind of off-color line in a certain way and he couldn’t quite get it right so I had him delivering it with this inflection, this one insult over and over again; he probably did it 30 times. And so finally he got it right and the whole bar kind of erupted in a cheer and it’s kind of a clinic this particular kind of insult so we’re gonna put that outtake on the DVD as the way of delivering this one particularly, incredibly foul piece of dialogue. And you can look forward to buying that on the DVD.” |
All in all Ben had a pretty smooth first time out directing Gone Baby Gone. |
“A lot of things certainly went wrong. You know in retrospect for me all I could see are the mistakes and the things that I wish I got and the things that I wish I did differently. I can’t say that trucks fell over or that I had a giant dramatic story of actors who quit at the last minute but a lot of little things definitely went wrong.” |
Ben has taken some time off to be with his wife Jennifer Garner in New York currently starring as Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac on Broadway. Ben’s devotion to his wife Jennifer Garner was put to the ultimate test when he made sure to see her on Broadway in Cyrano so he could be free to watch game one of the World Series to root for his beloved Red Sox. |
