BEERFEST DIRECTOR DIRECTS CHUGGERS

(VIDEO) Beerfest writer/director Jay Chandrasekhar had to give his actors direction on how to chug beer.

Beerfest writer/director Jay Chandrasekhar had the challenging task of directing his actors when they were busy chugging down gigantic volumes of beer. Jay says doing multiple takes on film did not make it easy for Saturday Night Live comedian Will Forte who developed his own method of chugging take after take.

Beerfest was based on actual experiences that Jay and his friends had in college and apparently the partying has continued on into their adult years.

“You can’t ultimately fill your stomach like if we need eight takes, you can’t do eight full chugs in a row without going and throwing up. In fact Will Forte chugged two massive ones in a row because I needed him to do a couple of takes and he’s the fastest chugger in the movie and I have it on film. I intend to beat him when we’re done but right now he’s got the fastest chug. He went and threw up, came back and did another take, went and threw up again and came back and did another take. It’s a little tough, not everybody wants to do that.”

Beerfest opens tomorrow in theaters nationwide.

“You know we all have a real love of the night and the late night up until 5 or 6 in the morning. You know nothing fun happens before midnight. We’re sort of those kind of guys.”
