BEANIE SIGEL JOINING G-UNIT RECORDS?
Rapper Beanie Sigel was in jail when the Roc-A-Fella Records empire was split up late last year and he was fine with his latest album, The B. Coming, being released as a joint venture between Dame Dash’s new label and Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records. Now the rapper, who was released from prison in August, has landed a label deal for his State Property imprint at Universal Records and is entertaining offers for his own recording services. |
Sigel told MTV.com, “I got my own [State Property imprint] with Universal. I didn’t want to be in the situation where I had to pick between my homies. They both good homies of mine. I didn’t wanna pick one way and go the other. Then they going through whatever they going through and I didn’t want to be in the middle of that equation. I just said the best thing for me to do as a man and true friend was to back up from both situations. I would have my friends on the same level. I don’t gotta worry about one feeling no type of way because I’m riding with this one. That’s a real uncomfortable feeling.” |
Sigel also dismissed rumors that he would be signing with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records. The rapper explained that he isn’t interested in any artist deals and would only join the label if it was a joint venture. So far the only artist that 50 Cent has signed as a joint venture deal was The Game and we all know how that story ended. |
