BEANIE SIGEL INSPIRED BY INCARCERATION
Rapper T.I. has been released from an Arkansas jail and moved to a halfway house in Atlanta, where he can begin ‘working’ again. |
Rapper Beanie Sigel spent his nine months behind bars like most inmates, reading a lot of books. But unlike other inmates, Sigel knew upon release he’d be afforded opportunities that other convicted felons wouldn’t. To that end, the rapper has decided to launch his own book publishing company to give writers behind bars an outlet. Sigel told Allhiphop.com, “Being in jail, I had the time to sit down and read a lot of books. I was reading a lot of dudes that wrote books while in jail, guys that have scripts and things.” |
The rapper added, “It’s the whole Vickie Stringer thing of how she was locked up and started a publishing company. That’s what I would be getting my book [ideas] from, people that are incarcerated. So, this is an opportunity to give them a chance, because I was there with them. That’s what I’m going to be doing.” |
No additional information about the book company was available at press time. |
Sigel, who was acquitted of attempted murder in September, is facing an assault trial for allegedly punching a 53-year-old man in the eye. |
