BEANIE SIGEL ACQUITTED

Beanie Sigel was aquitted of attempted murder charges by a Philadelphia jury on Monday, September 26th. The rapper was accused of shooting a Philadelphia man in the stomach and foot outside of a go-go bar in 2003. He was initially tried for the crime last year but the judge declared a mistrial after the jury was deadlocked after several days of deliberation.

Sigel’s lawyer, Perri Fortunato Jr., said, “I think the jury flat-out didn’t believe the victim and the eyewitness. They thought they were lying, that they put a story together, to ultimately end up in a payday for themselves. We have a lawsuit filed by the victim now, so I think the jurors saw right through the lies and the deception of the victim and the eyewitness.”

Sigel is still facing aggravated assault charges for allegedly punching a 53-year-old man in the face on January 9th, 2003. That trial is scheduled to begin next month.
