BARACK OBAMA KEEPS AL JOURGENSEN IN UNITED STATES
Noted George W. Bush hater, Al Jourgensen of Ministry, sounds off on the the 2008 Election and he shares his thoughts on a McCain win. |
On the eve of one of the biggest elections in recent memory, former lead vocalist of Ministry and noted Bush opponent Al Jourgensen took some time from his extremely busy schedule to share his thoughts on what appears to be a tightening race between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain. Jourgensen recently built his 13th Planet compound in El Paso, Texas on a secluded two-acre-plus piece of land on the banks of the Rio Grande where he put together a world-class recording studio complete with housing for visiting musicians and techs, a pool, a full gym, basketball and tennis courts, at least two full bars, a full recreation area, and plenty of office space. |
Although his 13th Planet compound is state of the art and no doubt has been a labor of love, Jourgensen shared his thoughts on who he’s voting for and the possibility he might leave it all behind and move to Canada, if John McCain wins the election. |
“Three words. Obama! Obama! Obama! I mean look, we can’t have a 72 year old cranky guy with a cancerous spot on his head and a moose hunting ‘I can see Russia from my backyard’ Vice President. You can’t do that and if people do it I have to sell the whole compound and move to Vancouver and start all over again. The whole rebuilding process because I’m not going to be here.” |
Jourgensen also talked about how important putting taxes back into our infrastructure is and even though he might be above Obama’s $250,000 tax break threshold, he doesn’t care because it needs to be done. |
“I’m in the tax range where ‘Oh my God more taxes if the democrats…’ So what. If you spend the taxes on infrastructure and on poverty and on education and on health as opposed to sending it all to Haliburton and Blackwater in Iraq for Dick Cheney and his buddies to get rich and this bailout is all for Bush’s financial buddies to get rich, you know. And Katrina, all the reconstruction is for Bush’s other reconstruction buddies to get rich. It’s just a scam.” |
Although Ministry is done, Jourgensen continues be very busy with multiple projects. He is currently working on Ministry’s farewell “C U La TouR” live DVD/CD package of that tour, which will be released in March 2009. Jourgensen is also working on an upcoming Revolting Cocks album, which will be coming out in February. And if that wasn’t enough, Jourgensen has also recently finished a documentary on the drug culture in the 90’s titled ‘Fixed’ which will also be released in 2009. |
