BAMBOOZLE VS PROJEKT REVOLUTION
My Chemical Romance discusses Bamboozle vs Projekt Revolution. |
Linkin Park, Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance were recently on hand in New York City to announce the Projekt Revolution tour. All three were also in the area to perform at the Bamboozle festival which took place a week-and-a-half ago in New Jersey. |
Backstage after the announcements we asked My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way the difference in mindset between playing Bamboozle and a tour like Projekt Revolution. |
“I mean well it’s two totally different things. In one case when we played Bamboozle we’re closing that, and we’re not doing that with Projekt Rev but the mindset is actually extremely relaxed, very positive. When you’re sharing a tour with other families, you want to bring nothing but positive energy and good vibes. We’ve all talked about healthy competition, and healthy competition is good — but beyond that it’s all about the kids as I’ve heard a lot of us say today. It’s about giving them a show. That’s why we’re here. We’re all here for them. And that’s the mindset, and actually you get your best tours that way because of that.” |
My Chemical Romance had a few down dates due to illness within the band stemming from food poisoning suffered at the Bamboozle festival. The band is back in action however. My Chemical Romance and tour mates Muse have continued their tour hitting the west coast of Canada and the U.S. with dates wrapping up May 22 in Portland. MCR then heads overseas for a run of festival dates. |
