Avenged Sevenfold is in the planning stages to release “Seize The Day” as their next single. The band’s current single is “Beast And The Harlot,” and vocalist Matt Shadows said the band wanted something heavier than their smash single, “Bat Country,” as the next representation from thier album City Of Evil. |
Avenged has set up a situation whereby thier next single, “Seize The Day,” could be a respected ballad without pigeonholing them as a ballad band. |
“I don’t know. I think ‘Bat Country’ did some cool stuff for us. I think we did a really smart career move by putting out ‘Beast And The Harlot’ second and not going with a soft single and being that type of radio band. Bands have ruined themselves by doing that. You look at bands like Hoobastank or Sugar Ray and those bands, and all of the sudden all they have to do is acoustic songs now, because they’re real big. There’s two ways to look at it. Either we burned ourselves out with heavy stuff and hopefully ‘Sieze The Day’ does well or ‘Sieze The Day’ will do well and we’ll say we had these two rock singles before hand so that when we come out with the next record… No matter what happens we’re not going to come out on the next record with a bunch of soft songs. Avenged Sevenfold is set for OzzFest this summer, and they just wrapped up a tour with Coheed And Cambria. “Beast And The Harlot” is currently at Number 18 on the Active Rock radio chart according to industry magazine Radio And Records. |
