AVANT MIXING IT UP

R&B singer Avant took a break from his career to spend some time with his 2 year-old son but the singer is back and he’s switched things up a bit. All three of Avant’s previous efforts were produced and co-written by Chicago-based producer Steve Huff. On his new album, Director, which hits stores next month, Avant has decided to use several different producer.

The singer explained why he decided to switch things up. He said,

“It’s different from the last album. The last three albums I worked with one producer, this time I spread it out. I got Jermaine Dupri, I got Rodney Jerkins, I got the Underdogs. It’s a beautiful look right now. I just thought it was that time for me to take it to that next level. And also I wanted to get the respect from the producers as well, so when I went to ’em this time they were like, ‘Yo, man, we’ve been wanting to work with you for the longest.’ So it made it a beautiful situation.”

The latest single from Director is “4 Minutes.”

Avant’s previous releaes include his 2000 platinum debut, My Thoughts, 2002’s gold certified Ecstasy and 2003’s gold-selling Private Room.
