AVANT MIXING IT UP
R&B singer Avant took a break from his career to spend some time with his 2 year-old son but the singer is back and he’s switched things up a bit. All three of Avant’s previous efforts were produced and co-written by Chicago-based producer Steve Huff. On his new album, Director, which hits stores next month, Avant has decided to use several different producer. |
The singer explained why he decided to switch things up. He said, |
“It’s different from the last album. The last three albums I worked with one producer, this time I spread it out. I got Jermaine Dupri, I got Rodney Jerkins, I got the Underdogs. It’s a beautiful look right now. I just thought it was that time for me to take it to that next level. And also I wanted to get the respect from the producers as well, so when I went to ’em this time they were like, ‘Yo, man, we’ve been wanting to work with you for the longest.’ So it made it a beautiful situation.” |
The latest single from Director is “4 Minutes.” |
Avant’s previous releaes include his 2000 platinum debut, My Thoughts, 2002’s gold certified Ecstasy and 2003’s gold-selling Private Room. |
