AUTOMATIC LOVELETTER WARPED DISCOVERY, KATY PERRY APPROVED

Automatic Loveletter might be the 2008 discovery at Warped Tour and gets the approval from current hot artist Katy Perry.

One of the break-out artists for this year’s Warped Tour is Automatic Loveletter which features the dynamic vocals of Juliet Simms. Many are pointing to them as the next big thing, and they have major label Sony for the big push.

Simms was asked about being one of the buzz bands on Warped 2008.

“It feels really good. I don’t want sit here and be like, ‘Oh, we’re so awesome,’ but we, everyday, we have bands that we’re in love with and we’ve always listened to coming up to us being like, ‘I heard about you guys and I came and watched your set and ‘Oh my god,’ and we’re going, ‘What the f–k is going on!’ I’m sorry I cursed. We’re like on Cloud 9 at all times. It’s crazy.”

She also talked about rubbing elbows with Katy Perry.

“Katy was just like, ‘Your voice is awesome.’ Katy and I have actually known each other for about three years. We used to play the Viper Room back in L.A. with each other. We like totally lost contact since then, so we totally lost contact since then, so she came up to me and she was just like, ‘Good job, dude. Good freakin’ job.’ So, it’s really awesome.”

Automatic Loveletter released an EP last year titled Recover, and the band is working with Producer Matt Squire for their Sony Music debut, which the band hopes to release in late 2008/early 2009.
