AUDIOSLAVE TO RELEASE REVELATIONS
(VIDEO) Audioslave is set to release their new album, Revelations, and their first single is headed straight for radio… |
Audioslave will return this summer with a new album titled Revelations. The first single from the album will be “Original Fire,” and it’s slated to hit radio July 18. The collection is their third release, and it follows the platinum Out Of Exile. |
Guitarist Tom Morello talked about making music in Audioslave. |
“We don’t try to be political or not be political in Audioslave. I mean, I’m very political in my life in what I do in Axis Of Justice. But obviously for any band in order for it to be good, in order for it to be great, it has to be authentic. That’s why we didn’t ask Chris Cornell to rap about the Zapatistas because that wasn’t going to be authentic for him. Each band has to find its own equilibrium. For me it was important to be in a band that rocked powerfully and was exciting musically, and it’s important in my life to be fighting the power, sticking it to the man, doing those things.” |
Audioslave’s forthcoming collection, Revelations, will hit stores September 5, and the band has teamed up once again with Brendan O’Brien. The producer, best known for his work with Pearl Jam, mixed Out Of Exile. He also worked on albums by Audioslave’s predecessors Rage Against The Machine and Soundgarden. |
