ATREYU GRADUATES TO REVOLUTION STAGE HEADLINER
Alex Varkatzas of Atreyu talks about headlining The Revolution Stage, and don’t call it the second stage on Projekt Revolution! |
Atreyu are set to perform on 2008’s Projekt Revolution Tour along with Linkin Park, Chris Cornell and Busta Rhymes and the band will be touring in support of their latest album ‘Lead Sails Paper Anchor’ which debuted at #8 on The Billboard 200 Chart. Performing on the mainstage at all North American Tour dates will be Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, Busta Rhymes, The Bravery and Ashes Divide. Headlining the Revolution stage will be Atreyu and they will be joined by 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Street Drum Corps and Armour for Sleep, but don’t call it the second stage. |
We caught up with Alex Varkatzas of Atreyu who is seated with Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Busta Rhymes to get his thoughts on headlining The Revolution Stage. |
(Shinoda) “Yeah, we call it The Revolution Stage.” “(K) Call it by it’s right name!” “(Cornell) What Stage am I on?” “(Bennington) We still call that one the main stage.” “(Cornell) That’s the problem and that’s the conflict…” “(K) The Big Dog Stage” “(Cornell)…it implies that the other one is not.” “(K) The Projekt Stage. We’re so excited to even be playing…” “(Cornell) You’re in headline land.” “(K) I made it. I f**kin’ made it. We never headlined a Projekt Stage or Revolution stage before, so it’s going to be revolutionary.” 29 |
In late April Atreyu re-released ‘Lead Sails Paper Anchor 2.0,’ which included updated artwork and a new song titled “The Squeeze” recorded exclusively for the re-release, plus the two bonus tracks “Epic” and “Clean Sheets”. The release also comes with a bonus DVD featuring exclusive videos, live performances, behind the scenes tour clips, and a digital guitar lesson. Projekt Revolution North American dates start July 16th in Mansfield, MA and extend until August 24th in Woodlands, Tx. |
