ASHANTI SET TO LAUNCH COMEBACK AFTER NEW MOVIE

Ashanti decides to wait until next year for comeback….

R&B singer Ashanti is one of the stars of the new movie, Resident Evil: Extinction, which also stars Milla Jovovich, Mike Epps, and Oded Fehr. The movie was Number One last weekend after raking $23.7 million its first weekend in theaters.

The film is full of high tech special effects and Ashanti shared what it was like shooting those scenes. The singer said,

“I don’t want to say it was challenging but you definitely had to focus because you didn’t want to obviously look like you were acting. You know so if you have to react to something that’s not there, you got to be very cautious with how you do that. You know and just make it as real as possible cause obviously you know it’s a little bit dangerous with live animals, and glass, and you know bullets and things like that going on in the set. So you definitely just have to keep it genuine.”

Ashanti’s previous screen credits include Coach Carter and John Tucker Must Die.

In related news, Ashanti is hoping to follow-up the success of the new movie with the release of a new solo album, The Declaration. The album will be release later this year and will feature production by Jermaine Dupri, L.T. Hutton, Babyface, and Polow Da Don. The first single from the project is “Switch” featuring Nelly.
