ASHANTI RELEASES NEW SINGLE, MOVIE BLOWS OFF STEAM
Ashanti releases first official single from the Declaration. |
R&B singer Ashanti is back with a new album, the Declaration, which is scheduled to hit stores in December. The first single from the project is “Hey Baby (After The Club). The new album will feature production and songwriting from Jermaine Dupri, Polow Da Don, L.T. Hutton, and Babyface. |
The singer is also currently featured on Jagged Edge’s new single, “Put A Little Umph In It.” |
“It was just very liberating I guess as a female you know. Just being in this industry you think about so many things at once you know. Sometimes you think about the negative. Sometimes you think about the future and what you’re gonna do and how you’re gonna add one and one together to equal two. And you want to blow off some steam and man that is by far one of the best ways to blow off some steam.” |
Ashanti’s previous releases include her 2002 self-titled debut which has sold seven million copies. The singer’s 2003 sophomore album, Chapter, sold 1.5 million copies. Ashanti released her third album, Concrete Rose, in 2004. |
Ashanti is returning to music after taking a break to explore acting. She starred in Coach Carter, John Tucker Must Die, and most recently the action movie, Resident Evil: Extinction. The singer explained that shooting the action movie was a great way to blow off steam. She said, |
