R&B singer Ashanti has kept busy by starring in Coach Carter, John Tucker Must Die, and Resident Evil: The Extinction but now the singer is trying to make her way back to her first love music. Initially Ashanti planned to release her new album, The Declaration, in October but the set has been pushed back until next year. The latest single from the project is “Hey Baby.” |
The new album will be Ashanti’s first under her new deal with Motown Universal. The singer shared that she’s been working with a lot of heavyweight producers. She said, |
“Well there’s definitely a growth that you can see. Like I said I’m kind of steering my own ship, working with a whole bunch of new producers. None of these producers I ever worked with before. I’m traveling. I’m in and out of Atlanta, all over the place, L.A. I’m working with JD. I’m working with Nephew. I’m working with Polow. I’m working with LT Hutton, Babyface. I love you too.” |
Ashanti previously recorded for Murder Inc. Records. The singer’s last release was 2004’s Concrete Rose. |
