ARMY OF ANYONE HAVE LONG LIST OF SONGS TO CHOOSE FROM
Army of Anyone are touring and with a catalog of songs to choose from like Stone Temple Pilots and Filter, the band talk about the decisions, right here. |
Army of Anyone are touring in support of their self titled debut album and with members from Stone Temple Pilots and Filter there’s certainly an extensive catalog of songs to choose from. |
We caught up with lead vocalist Richard Patrick and bassist Robert DeLeo to discuss the bands process in deciding which which songs from the past to bring to their live show. |
“Oh man, i’m going through my iPod and it’s like wow there’s a lot of really great stuff. But I think it was kind of determined on a musical level because it was like here’s some stuff in this key and lets hang out in this key and if we can’t hang out in this key then let’s capo it up to a key we like. It was based on music and what it felt like and we ended up with some really great stuff.” |
DeLeo, who shared many amazing musical moments in Stone Temple Pilots with former singer Scott Weiland is still proud of their accomplishments together but it’s refreshing and exciting for him to share new experiences with Richard Patrick. For Patrick, singing songs he’s written with his band Filter can be comfortable for him to perform since he’s familiar with the mind set of the song. But it’s now his job to sing some of the songs written by former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland and Patrick’s found enjoyment in getting into Scott’s mindset. |
“I haven’t seen Scott in a while. I wish him the best and there’s no hard feelings at all. We’ve just kind of moved on and I’m very proud of what we did. I think being here and considering doing some of those songs in the past and Richard here letting down his ego to the point where he wants to cover these songs.” Patrick went on to add “I tell you what it’s an honor singing Scott’s lyrics because i’ve always been a huge STP fan.” |
Army of Anyone have a handful of US tour dates for December as the band look to put a headlining tour together for 2007. |
