ANTONIO BANDERAS SAYS DANCE, DON’T DO DRUGS
Antonio Banderas takes on the inner city’s roughest and toughest highschool kids and turns them into well-mannered ballroom dancers in the film Take The Lead. |
While making the film he says he discovered that dance might be a way of teaching these forgotten teens to stay away from guns and drugs. |
“Sometimes our society forgets about these types of kids that are in neighborhoods and public schools that are very susceptible to end up with a gun in their hands easily and drugs, multiple things. If you put a little attention and a little love the results are magnificent and you can change literally society because they are the future.” |
The future continues for Pierre Dulaine’s Ballroom Dancing program which currently has 120 schools in all 5 boroughs teaching over 12,000 kids how to tango. |
