ALTER BRIDGE LEARNS FROM CREED AND TOURMATES
Alter Bridge has forged a path, and with their recent tour with label-mates, Another Animal they talk about the absence of big band pressure. |
Alter Bridge features the three out of the four members of Creed, with the notable exception of singer Scott Stapp. The band’s sound is completely different, but so is the attitude of the band and the demands and pressures of the business. |
Guitarist Mark Tremonti talked about the lessons learned from being in the machine that was Creed. |
The band’s initial tour in support of their new album, Blackbird, took place with Another Animal. That band is comprised of the members of Godsmack minus Sully Erna. Tremonti was asked if there was levity about the tour being away from such platinum selling bands and the logistical headaches they entail. |
Another Animal is fronted by Whitfield Crane, former bandmate of drummer Shannon Larkin in Ugly Kid Joe, who had a hit in the ’90s with “I Hate Everything About You.” Meanwhile, Alter Bridge is touring through December 9, where they wrap up as part of Kansas City radio’s KQRC Twisted Christmas show. |
