After 188 consecutive sell outs The Allman Brothers Band will no longer be performing at The Beacon Theater in New York City. Find out why right here. |
The Allman Brothers are gearing up to hit the stage once again at their Wanee Festival and it will be the bands 5th consecutive year putting it together at The Spirit of the Suwanee Park in Live Oak, Florida. Taking place June 5th and 6th, 2009 will bring a lineup which includes of course The Allman Brothers joined by Buddy Guy, Gov’t Mule, Little Feat, The Doobie Brothers, Grace Potter, Bill Kreutzmann BK3 and much more. After taking the 2008 Wanee Festival off due to some health issues with Gregg Allman, The Allman Brothers will look to continue on their blistering pace for their 40th Anniversary Tour. |
Artisan News caught up with drummer Butch Trucks of The Allman Brothers to talk about the band performing once again at Wanee in 2009. |
“Oh, it’s fun. It’s done really well. Last year we didn’t really do it because Gregg was sick. We went up and played a little but it wasn’t the same thing. The Allman Brothers didn’t play. But the two or three years before it kept getting better and better. It’s a great venue, it’s a heck of a lot of fun.” |
Also set to perform at Wanee in 2009 include The Wailers, Derek Trucks Band, Umphrey’s McGee, Susan Tedeschi, Keller Williams, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and Col Bruce Hampton to name just a few. |
