ALICIA KEYS TACKLES THE BIG SCREEN

Trivium says the Grammy Committee doesn’t understand or “get” the metal category.

Singer Alicia Keys has garnered yet another movie role in the upcoming 2007 film “The Nanny Diaries.” This is the third role Keys has been cast to play.

The film, which is an adaptation of the best selling novel, will feature Keys as the best friend of Scarlett Johansson who plays the nanny to the spoiled son of a rich Manhattan couple.

Keys can first be seen later this year in the film “Smoking Aces,” where she teams up with a group of assassins to kill a loose-lipped comedian who plans to rat out the Marfia. The singer also inked a deal with Sony production to play bi-racial pianist Phillippa Schuyler in a film based on the prodigy’s life. The biopic will be co-produced by actress Halle Berry.

Aside from movie projects, Alicia Keys also has plans to hit television screens in an untitled UPN sitcom which is based around her experiences growing up as a bi-racial child in Manhattan’s Hells Kitchen. This is Key’s first venture under her production company Big Pita, Lil’ Pit.
