ALICE IN CHAINS AND CANTRELL A NO GO FOR ROCK STAR
(VIDEO) Alice In Chains has reformed, but they were eyed for the next installment of Rockstar… Guitarist Jerry Cantrell had some thoughts on that, here! |
Alice In Chains is currently looking to reunite, and they’re looking for a singer. The band actually got together for the first time for a hurricane benefit show, and then took that one step further doing a tribute to Heart. Now, reunited as friends and without singer Layne Staley, who died in the 2002 from a drug overdose, the band is looking for another opportunity. |
At one point it was rumored that the band was offered a chance to be the next band featured in the RockStar TV series, but that may only be half true. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell said that the show isn’t their cup of tea. |
“I don’t think they really approached us because it’s not an idea that we just…we wouldn’t entertian. I think the best comment to that show was something I heard out of the Van Halen camp, which was, I’ll do that show right after I pull a piece of s–t out of my pocket and eat it.” |
Meanwhile, a reunited Alice In Chains is set to tour with special guest vocalist William DuVall, who had played in Cantrell’s solo band. |
