AL GORE: THE TRUTH IS STILL OUT THERE
A year later former Vice President Al Gore is continuing to spread the message of dangerous global warming. |
In the year since An Inconvenient Truth was released the evidence of global warming was felt mostly in the weather with record breaking temperatures in the middle of the winter making it feel like spring. |
Observers in the Netherlands for instance reported that flowers were blooming in December and here at home people were wearing T-shirts instead of down jackets. Former vice president Al Gore still maintains that global warming is a world wide threat that is still out there. |
“And in the year that has passed by since a lot of new evidence has come out. This story continues to unfold. Temperature increases have continued to set records in the United States, in Europe and in Asia and in many parts of the world. New scientific evidence has firmed up the consensus even more than was the case when the movie was made. These additional features are intended to present some of the new facts, the new events, the new evidence, the new findings that have come out since the completion of the movie.” |
Both Al Gore and An Inconvenient Truth have been given honors this year. Gore has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to draw the world’s attention to the dangers of global warming. An Inconvenient Truth is nominated for two Oscars for best documentary feature and original song by Melissa Etheridge, I Need to Wake Up. |
