AGAINST ME! SAYS PLAYING AUSTIN CITY LIMITS A PRIVILEGE
Against Me talk about what a privilege it was for the band to perform at Austin City Limits this past weekend |
Against Me! performed at Austin City Limits this past weekend alongside other notable acts like The Foo Fighters, Beck, The Raconteurs, Robert Plant & Allison Krauss, Gnarls Barkley and David Bryne, and it was the first time the punk rock group played ACL and they were clearly excited for the opportunity. Playing songs off their latest release ‘New Wave’ the band performed on Sunday September 28th and no doubt gained some new fans who weren’t familiar with punk rock song writing of Against Me! |
We caught up with lead vocalist and principle song writer, Tom Gabel to get his thoughts on what a priveledge it was for the band to perform at ACL this year. |
“Playing Austin City Limits, it’s definitely a pleasure to here and a privIlege. I love Austin in general and yeah, we’re stoked at the chance.” |
Against Me! will be touring the U.S in October with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and Future of the Left. The band also has plans of getting into the studio in 2009 to record their highly anticipated follow up to 2007’s ‘New Wave.’ Tom Gabel will be posting on his MySpace, one new video each week leading up to the 10/28 release of his solo EP “Heart Burns.” Gabel will be starting a solo tour in support of “Heart Burns” beginning October 31st in Pamona, Ca and extend until November 16th in South Carolina. |
