AFI has announced that their much anticipated new album, Decemberunderground, will officially be released June 6th. The band has released their first taste from the collection, Miss Murder. |
The collection will be the AFI’s first since 2003’s Sing The Sorrow. For the effort guitarist Jade and singer Davey talked about how many songs they wrote and how many will be on the finished version of the record. |
[Jade] “Fifty songs.” [Davey] “Yes, yes, fifty songs…. probably about forty-nine (will make the record)I think? Nah, just kidding.” [Jade] “Probably like fifteen, twelve on the album. Something like that.” [Davey] “Yeah, we don’t want to make the album too exhausting for anybody.” |
AFI has kept busy outside of music. Davey starred in an animated movie called Live Freaky, Die Freaky, and he talked about his acting experience. |
“Yeah, yeah. Well our friend John Roecker made a movie with stop animiation ala The Brothers Quay, and he asked me to do a voice of a hairdresser and I was happy to do it and I have hair. So, I figured that would fit.” |
AFI will play various radio festivals and hit the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey next month prior to the album’s release. The band will also play select dates on the Warped Tour this summer. |
