AEROSMITH GUITAR HERO GAME ANNOUNCED
Aerosmith will be the first band to have a Guitar Hero game built for them, and fans can actually experience being the beantown bad boys. |
Aerosmith is the subject of the next release of the video game, Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is set for release in June, and the game will open the playing field as far as being in Aerosmith. Fans can play solo and be either bassist Tom Hamilton, guitarist Brad Whitford, or guitarist Joe Perry – joining singer Steven Tyler and drummer Joey Kramer on stage. The game supports three players so all three can guest in and be in the band. |
Having sons that play Guitar Hero, and playing the game himself, Joe Perry told us it’s not as intuitive for guitar players as it first may seem. |
“Well, you gotta go back and keep learning and keep learning and keep learning, because very often it’s not as intuitive as you would think. And that intuition is what you’d think is there, but it’s not after the basic bit. Then you’re playing it like anyone else. Just because the controller is shaped like a guitar doesn’t mean you’re going to score any better than somebody else that doesn’t play guitar.” |
One interesting aspect about the game is that players experience what it’s like to be Aerosmith in their career. The game features the band playing small clubs, all the way to their comeback success, and fans will not only learn about their history, but experience it. It also features collaborations they’ve done, and some selections from bands they’ve toured with or musicians that have been influential in their careers. |
