WAYNE STATIC OF STATIC-X DEAD AT 48

Wayne Static the spikey haired frontman for Static X has died at the age of 48, according to published reports. Wayne spearheaded one of the bands successful at merging industrial and metal at the turn of the century. It is rumored that drugs were a contributing factor to his death, but those reports could not be confirmed at press time.

Wayne last released a solo album, Pighammer, in 2011, and we caught up with him and wife, and former porn star Tera Wray, on the carpet of the Golden Gods awards to talk about the solo effort vs Static X.

Static-X last released an album, Cult Of Static, in 2009. Their album Wisconsin Death Trip went platinum in 2001. He was born Wayne Richard Wells on November 4, 1965.
