Some in The Eagles camp, question, ‘What music industry slump?’ The legendary band, taking advantage of the popularity of their award winning documentary, History Of The Eagles, has completed their Tour of the same name to the tune of a $145 million dollar gross! The trek kicked off on July 1, 2013 and so far ran through June 30 of 2014 to calculate the mind numbing total. The group is not finished as they wrap up a European leg of the tour July 2. Another run of U.S. dates begins Monday, August 25 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington, and it included two more dates at Madison Square Garden.
Bassist Timothy B. Schmit, who came aboard during the group’s later years, talked about his participation in The Eagles.
The bans is not only a touring juggernaut. The Eagles have sold in excess of 120 million albums worldwide, with their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 being the best-selling album of all time. The group has also notched five Number One U.S. singles and six GRAMMY Awards.
