MISSY ELLIOTT UNDERGOES SURGERY

Missy Elliott won’t be turning up in any videos any time soon doing any of that nifty footwork that earned her MTV’s prestigious Video Of The Year award in years past. The star tore her left Achilles tendon while rehearsing for TV Guide Emmy Party in Los Angeles.

Elliott, who had a two-and-a-half-hour operation in New York to repair the damage, said in a released statement, “Tearing your Achilles is no joke. I can’t even tell you how much pain I’m in, but I’m happy the surgery went well and I want to thank everyone for their concern.”

The recovery process typically takes six to 12 months but Elliott is praying for a miracle and plans to return to the stage on October 8th for Miller Genuine Draft’s “Flavor to Savor” event in New York City.
