The Roots are now officially part of the Def Jam Records family. The group recently signed a new recording contract with the label and will release their new album, Game Theory, in February. The Roots also landed a label deal and will be developing acts with Jay-Z for their Left Jam imprint.

The band’s Questlove said,

“We fulfilled. We’re one of the rare groups that actually fulfilled our contract. You know we got two greatest hits records coming out in December so that nine records for Geffen. Then February it’s a whole new world for us.”
