DAME DASH IS REALLY A HANDS ON PUBLISHER

Hip-hop mogul Dame Dash is very hands on with his lifestyles magazine, America. The mogul is facing third degree misdemeanor assault charges for allegedly punching the editor-in-chief so hard that he was hospitalized. New York’s Daily News reports that the incident took place last Tuesday, September 27th at Dash’s Tribeca offices. The mogul allegedly punched America magazine’s editor-in-chief Smokey Fontaine in the chest causing Fontaine to fall over a chair. Fontaine checked himself into a hospital for a few days before filing a police report about the incident on Thursday, September 29th.

Dash was one of the biggest investors in America but according to those close to the situation, Fontaine was looking for other investors. The source said, “The magazine was Smokey’s brainchild. But his dream was being jeopardized.”

In addition to the criminal charges, Fontaine may also be filing a civil lawsuit against Dash.
