STEREOPHONICS DIG FRANZ, KILLERS, BRAVERY, LEON
Stereophonics are currently in the studio laying down song demos for the follow up to Language, Sex, Violence, Other?, but most importantly it allows them to find the next big bands in music. |
Vocalist Kelly Jones said that they were one of the first to be on to a lot of the new alternative bands when they first left to tour in support of the album, only to find that their indie favorites had gone maninstream by the time they’d returned. |
“Yeah, I like the Kings Of Leon record, I like the Strokes record, I like the Libertines stuff, I like the Bravery is great, the Killers album is good. The Franz Ferdinand thing. When that first came out it was great, and then we come back from six months of touring and they were huge. I don’t know how f–k, what went on there? When we left there was nothing going on. And that’s kind of the case now. We find all these great band and we take the CDs on tour and nobody knows who they are and when we return they’re all playing arenas and we’d be like, ‘What happened?’ So, yeah. Good luck to all of them. I think they’re all trying to do something new, and that’s good.” |
Stereophonics have finished the U.K. single package for “Rewind,” which will officially hit stores next month. In the meantime the band already has one song mapped out for the follow-up to Language, Sex, Violence, Other? |
