OL DIRTY BASTARD ALBUM IN LIMBO
The late Ol’ Dirty Bastard recorded an album for Roc-A-Fella Records before his death in November of 2004. Following the break-up of Roc-A-Fella Records the project was picked up by Damon Dash’s Dame Dash Music Group label and was scheduled for release this summer. Unfortunately the album, A Son Unique, has gotten caught up in label politics and no release date has been set for the project. |
RZA, who worked on the project, doesn’t have any idea when it will see the light of day. He said, |
“As far as the ODB album, I can’t even speak on it cause I don’t really know what they’re doing with it over there. I know I did a lot of work on the album. I haven’t been paid for it, you know what I mean, no big deal though cause you know I did it regardless. I don’t know what they’re doing over there. I just hope they get their act together and release that record because his family is now dependent on the release of that record, you know what I mean?” |
A Son Unique features the production of Mark Ronson, DJ Premier, the Neptunes, RZA, Rockwilder, Damon Elliot, Dame Grease, Boola, and Soul Diggaz, and guest appearances by Missy Elliott, Lil’ Fame, Clipse, Pharrell Williams, Ghostface Killah, Young Chris of the Young Gunz, Macy Gray, Raekwon, Method Man, and Joe Budden. |
