CHAMILLIONAIRE EXPLAINS THE SPLIT WITH PAUL WALL
Paul Wall and Chamillionaire were the hottest duo in Houston, Texas, in 2002 when the pair released their album, Get Ya Mind Correct. The duo, who had been the low men on the totem pole at the Swishahouse label, were now one of the hottest acts in the area. Shortly thereafter the two began to grow apart especially as different people started to come between them. These days the two men don’t speak. They have agreed to disagree on their past dealings and are leaving things at that. |
Recently Chamillionaire explained how the promising group fell apart. He said, |
“After we left Swishahouse, we started our own thing under the Color Changing Click. We started putting out our own mixtapes. We started out slow but then we started being succcessful with it and just started building, started getting bigger and bigger. We started to have something for ourselves. You know later on down the line we drop an album called Get Ya Mind Correct and that sold over 150,000 records. You know it’s like I guess a classic to people out there in that area. We had this big single on there, ‘I Luv My Money.’ After that we were kind of like neighborhood superstars out there. Then later on down the line, we grew into two different people and he went back to Swishahouse. I was just like, ‘I would never go back to Swishahouse.’ But I ain’t gonna lie I was surprised that he actually went back to Swishahouse. I would think that he would start something for himself you know what I’m sayin’? But then you know somebody said so |
Chamillionaire will release his new album, The Sound of Revenge, on November 22nd. |
